where i am now...
Perpignan, France
This is quite possibly my favorite place so far. Located in the very south of France, the historic district of Perpignan is completely walkable. In fact, I don't know how they get cars through these tiny streets. My apartment is in the midst of all the action and yet is somehow very quiet and peaceful. There are tons of shops, markets, cafes, restaurants and even nightclubs. There's a beautiful park about 15 minutes' walk from my apartment. I've walked miles and miles since I've been here and I can't get enough of it.

Charleville-Mezieres, France
This is the beautiful Place Ducale in the historic center square. It also happens to be what I'll see when walking out my front door, with plenty of shops and cafes to explore. Charleville-Mezieres is in very northern France, near the Belgium border. While there I plan to take a quick side trip to Bruges (I hear it's wonderful) and a quick trip back to the states for my niece's wedding. Fun times ahead!
