I couldn't have loved this little island more if I tried. What an unexpected treat it was to spend a weekend there in January. The weather was cool, but not cold. The people were incredibly warm and friendly. The food was delicious, obviously. And the men were like freaking gods!
Corfu becomes a busy, crowded place in season, but in off season it's a peaceful, beautiful, slow-paced island with so much charm. There are cafes on every corner with restaurants spilling out onto the streets. The food is diverse and very reasonable priced. In fact, in off-season everything was super affordable. I stayed in a one bedroom apt in the heart of downtown and paid $130 US for the whole weekend. (Check it out on my reviews page.) I averaged less than $20 US for each meal, including beverages. And the shopping was awesome. I strongly recommend a few days, a week (a lifetime) in this delightful place. Seriously, I could live there.
Corfu is a very laid-back island, but there are still plenty of things to keep you busy:
1. First, take a hop on/hop off bus to get your bearings and see the island.
2. Stroll through the bazaar of Old Town.
3. Visit the old Venetian Fortress.
4. Enjoy the Royal Baths Mon Repos.
5. Take a day cruise to the Blue Caves.
6. Go parasailing or other water sports.
7. Take a food and cultural tour.
8. Take a paratrike flight over the coastline.
9. Go snorkeling.
10. Visit an olive mill with olive oil tasting.

Often, it's hard to pick one thing to shine a light on. Among the MANY such things on Corfu, I'm choosing to shout out the people. Honestly, salt of the earth. Both the men and women couldn't be friendlier. And as a single woman of a certain age, I really enjoyed the flirtations by the much younger and very hot men. Everywhere I went I felt welcomed and appreciated.
